Description

This course will examine how standardised behavioral assessment protocols and robust documentation practices support patient safety, diagnostic accuracy, and service quality in pediatric audiology. Drawing on the clinical and scientific foundations of developmental assessment, we will explore strategies for ensuring assessments are both effective and age appropriate. Practical approaches to quality assurance will be reviewed, highlighting methods to enhance consistency, reliability, and clinical governance across pediatric audiology services.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe how standardization of practice and documentation underpins patient safety, diagnostic accuracy, and service quality in pediatric audiology.
  • Evaluate the key clinical and scientific principles that define effective, safe, and developmentally appropriate behavioural assessments in infants and children.
  • Critique practical quality assurance strategies which can be implemented into clinical workflows to improve consistency, reliability, and clinical governance in pediatric audiology.
